Marisa Manaças Ferreira completed her Master of Medicine degree at the Medical School of the NOVA University Lisbon, Portugal in 2015. After completing her clinical pathology residency internship at the Northern Lisbon University Hospital Centre, she was invited to become an attending physician at the Hospital Centre during 2017 to 2022. During her time as an attending physician, she was primarily responsible for the work in the hematology laboratory, such as: Microscopic analysis of peripheral blood smears; bone marrow aspiration and morphological analysis of bone marrow particle smears; participation in the evaluation of immunophenotypic analysis; and cooperation with the hematology laboratory for internal quality control and external quality assessment. Since 2024, she has been working in the autoimmune disease laboratory, where she was responsible for using indirect immunofluorescence to find autoantibodies and interpreting the results according to the ICAP (International Antinuclear Antibody Consensus) standard. Subsequently, she combined other detection methods to conduct research, which were based on the positive rate and fluorescence pattern of different cell structures in Hep2 cells.
